Welcome to digital age of apparel printing.
Just like printing an image on paper, digital printing brings apparel to life. Plus, it’s ON DEMAND. If you can imagine it, we can print it for you — full color printing from your computer files directly onto t-shirts, sweatshirts, towels and more. Unlike screen printing, digital means no set-up or screen charges and NO MINIMUMS. There are no limits to the type or brand of apparel and no image cracking (remember heat transfers?). In fact, digital images are remarkably soft. The images stay bright and vivid after washings. Best of all, digital printing gives you more flexibility in placing your images. How about inside the hood? Or around the back?
QRST’s has been printing t-shirts on demand (direct to garment) with the most advanced digital equipment for over six years. We pioneered the technology in New England and we will continue to lead as new technology makes for more exciting printing options for our clients.
What can be digitally printed?
Virtually any garment that can be screen printed can also be digitally printed. The results are dazzling.
We have 2 digital printing options: the Brother GT-341for white/light shirts, and the Kornit Breeze 921 for colored/dark shirts. This gives you unlimited printing options.
Brother GT-341 printing: (for white/light colored shirts)
Digital printing on white and light fabric creates vibrant colors without any decal feel. The inks bond INTO the fabric, creating prints that last for a long time without little to no fading. Because the inks are transparent and water-based, the they feel like part of the fabric.
Keep in mind that the Brother GT-341 doesn’t print white ink. If your artwork features white, we’ll print on the Kornit.
Kornit Breeze 921 printing: (for any color fabric)
Digital printing has transformed what can be printed on dark—even black—fabric. The process is similar to the Brother GT-341 and includes white ink. This is especially useful for full-color prints or photos on dark-colored fabric. With the Kornit, the feel is similar to a traditional screen print. Depending on your artwork, we may start with a white under base and then pass the shirts through the Kornit a second time to maximize the color and pop of your artwork. A second pass through the printing adds $1.50 to the printing cost per print
Digital printing: HOW BIG?
The standard print size for digital printing is 8.5 x 11″, oriented horizontally or vertically. To print larger — up to 13.5 x 15.5″ for light colored shirts — add $1.50 per shirt. Up to 13.5 x 17.5″ for dark-colored shirts, add $2 per shirt.

Unlike screen printing, with pricing based on the number of shirts, colors and placements, digital printing pricing is based on a uniform rate per shirt. There are no screen charges. You can order as few or as much as you want with no set-up fees.
